About 'oh, health...'

A specialist science-based ‘Health, Fitness & Well-Being’ magazine, distributed at no cost through three main channels:

1) Print - Intended to reach local communities through free distribution. We are starting in Glasgow, Scotland, in January 2027, with two community-editions - West End and Shawlands, Strathbungo, and Pollokshields - and a print run of 20,000 copies published quarterly.

2) Online - The digital magazine version is aimed at a larger audience - due to the natural global reach of the internet - sharing the core editorial content of its printed counterpart, excluding some of which might be specific to the local communities. In addition – as it is refreshed more frequently than its printed counterpart – it will offer theme-relevant “breaking news” and scientific updates.

3) Mobile app  - With all the features of a premium app with reflowing text for readable scrolling, rich media embedding (audio and video), offline downloads, personalised content feeds, and social sharing. It is a free app, in line with our free distribution of evidence-based information.

Editorial content

"oh, health…" covers breaking news, deep-dive features, interviews, local events and recent breakthroughs in fields of health, fitness and well-being. It aims at entertaining, informing and even teaching, as correctly as possible, our readers.

Contrary to focus on promoting expensive fads, unsubstantiated trends and goals to quickly achieve unattainable physical perfection, "oh, health..." magazine is about how to apply evidence-based content to health, fitness and well-being as a fundamental, non-negotiable requirement for good modern living, lasting physical vitality, mental resilience, and holistic self-care. It also raises awareness about important health issues, offering practical advice and recommendations - what to do, whom to talk to, etc.

While we committed to protect information integrity, we remain humble and approachable. Our content may be evidence-based but it is still subject to discussion and review. Science is always evolving and what may be true today, may be found not to be quite accurate tomorrow, and our readers must be made aware of that. We will also make it clear when we are imparting fact or opinion.

"Oh, health...let's get it right, without nonsense"

In a global environment dominated by fake news, generative AI "slop," and advanced deepfakes, we face a rising tide of misinformation and disinformation across almost every subject.

Monetisation, power, market dynamics, and financial disruption are the interconnected forces that sparked, sustain, and continue to fuel the "fake news" phenomenon. Among the industries most severely threatened by this disinformation ecosystem are healthcare and the media. Healthcare misinformation or disinformation is far from trivial; it is a dangerous, growing trend that actively puts lives at risk. This magazine aims to join the global effort to correct the narrative. By publishing truthful, evidence-based information, we can help drown out the noise of fake news

Our "oh' health..." magazine intends to adhere to the virtues of dependable media, trustworthy journalism and entertainment regarding all topics relevant to health (and get it right, without nonsense).

Our stance on 'health'

When it comes to health, fitness and well-being, we reject "healthism" as we believe that it is not purely an individual choice and solutions cannot be oversimplified. We always bear in mind the social, economic, and genetic factors that contribute to ill-health or degree of difficulty in experiencing improvements. Not only each person's body is unique, but so are personal circumstances.

Raising awareness is vital, by emphasising appropriately and frequently that regular health checks save lives. It can identify dangerous conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer early on. Unfortunately, because it might not be 'glamourous' enough, most "health & fitness" magazines fail to do that.

We believe that the magazine's purpose should be exclusively to provide genuine information for the sake of our readers' health, fitness, and well-being. In time, once readers see this clear goal, a strong bond of trust begins.

Hopefully, "oh, health..." magazine will also help towards demystifying superfluous trends, identifying deception and see through a vast array of misleading claims and pseudoscience in general.

Our writers

Our writers are hand-picked scientists, medical professionals and trusted experts. In our locally distributed print magazines, we will always try to invite community-based qualified specialists.
